Michèle Laroque was invited to the show En aparté on Canal+ this Wednesday, March 16. The actress notably returned to this terrible car accident which she suffered when she was young, but which then had a huge impact on her career.
In 1979, when she was only 19 years old, the life of Michele Laroque almost tipped over. While in a car, the actress was victim of a terrible accident which left her paraplegic for several long months. “I had an accident at the age of 19, my vital prognosis was engaged and I had (among other things) the femur in 18 pieces. I underwent eleven operations, and I remained hospitalized for almost two years “she revealed in March 2020 on her Twitter account.
But this road accident was still beneficial for Michèle Laroque, because it was like a trigger in her life, and decided her to embark on the profession of actress. “I have this accident, and it must have stirred my energies a little or I don’t know what… and I said to myself ‘I almost died without knowing if I was a good or bad actress'”she confided in the show As an aside this Wednesday, March 16.

And it is by then visiting her mother, a professor of phonetics at the university, that Michèle Laroque will have a new revelation. “I go out, and my mother gives orals. And a girl tells her she wants to be an actress. And my mother then asks him ‘oh well, and what are you doing for that?’, ‘I’m at the Antibes Conservatory with Julien Bertheau’…. Julien Bertheau, huge teacher, huge actor, member of the Comédie Française, … finally, a huge stroke of luck! I go to class, and there I am at the Antibes Conservatory, and I feel good”, told Michèle Laroque. An incredible twist of fate that allowed her to become one of the most popular actresses in French cinema.
