Formula 1: Audi and Porsche want to get into Formula 1

After suffering from glandular fever in preparation for the season, Gisin made a strong return to the World Cup. Before the turn of the year she was third in the giant slalom in Courchevel and in the slalom in Lienz for the first time this winter again on the podium.

But the intense weeks with races in all four disciplines did not leave the all-rounder unscathed. After being eliminated on Tuesday in the Schladming slalom, the second threading-in within three days, the third in the overall World Cup last season was visibly emotional in the SRF interview.

«The last three weeks have been so intense. It’s actually extremely cool that I could drive everything. Now I’m really, very tired and therefore a little emotional. Now I need a break and hope that I’m ready again in Cortina, ”said the 2018 Olympic Combination Champion. On last year’s World Championship course in Cortina there will be a downhill run and a Super-G on the weekend after next.

In Zauchensee, where Gisin finished third in a speed race two years ago, a downhill run is planned for the next Saturday and a Super-G the next day.

(sda) The Swiss national coach Patrick Fischer will have to do without Tristan Scherwey at the Olympic Games in Beijing (February 4th to 20th). The 30-year-old SC Bern striker has to undergo an operation on his foot and will be out until mid-March.

Scherwey is an integral part of the Swiss selection. Most recently, he took part in world championships three times in a row and also took part in the 2018 Olympic Games. At the last World Cup he scored seven points (1 goal) in eight games.

The Freiburg resident has long been complaining of problems with his ankle and ligaments in his ankle. Nevertheless, he was also one of the top performers at SC Bern this season. (sda) Camille Rast took the next step towards the top in the World Cup slalom in Schladming. The Valais was fourth in the race won by the American Mikaela Shiffrin. Rast missed the podium by just twelve hundredths of a second.

With their best result so far in the World Cup, Rast stepped into the breach for Wendy Holdener and Michelle Gisin. Holdener from Schwyz, who was in third place after the first run, was eliminated in the second, Gisin from Obwalden in the first run after a threader.

Shiffrin celebrated her second win of the season in slalom. With a total of 47 triumphs in the pole forest, she is the first person ever in alpine ski racing with so many victories in a discipline.
