Michelle Pfeiffer can’t imagine working with her husband David E. Kelley: “It would be too risky.”

She is a famous actress, he is a successful television and film producer: There will probably not be a joint project between Michelle Pfeiffer (63) and husband David E. Kelley (66). The 63-year-old can’t imagine working with her husband like she does during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”.. It would be “too risky”.

“Nobody writes better roles for women than he does. It’s incredible,” enthuses the actress. “But still, I value our relationship more than a good role.” They are both “quite violent” when they work. “If I come home and I’ve had a bad day and I’m upset about something, I want him to be on my side because he hasn’t heard the other side,” explains Pfeiffer.

The first meeting of the two was “not a good start”

Pfeiffer and Kelley have been married to each other since 1993. Pfeiffer’s best friend arranged her first date for her, as the actress moderator Jimmy Fallon (47) tells. It was “not a good start”. She was a little nervous and sworn off dating after a series of bad experiences. But her friend asked her: “Please, just this last time, meet this guy, David Kelley.”

They got to know each other at a dinner where Pfeiffer’s sister sat across from David E. Kelley. The two chatted animatedly with each other, whereupon Pfeiffer turned to her best friend and suggested that they be set up together. She replied: “You don’t dare. […] I’m sitting across from your future husband.”
