Microids continues to grow by opening an office in Berlin

With this base in Berlin, Microids will be able to better manage the establishment of partnerships with publishers and studios throughout the German-speaking market (Germany, Switzerland and Austria). “These territories represent our second largest market in Europe after France, both in volume and in value.“, moreover, confides CEO Stéphane Longeard at the microphone of Games Industry.

According to the latter, a license like Asterix is almost as popular in Germany as in France and Belgium. Germany is also an important target for PC adventure games like Syberia. The German video game market is also in great shape and generated a record turnover of 9.8 billion euros in 2021.

In 2021, the Microids group achieved a turnover of more than 52 million euros, an increase of 60% compared to the year 2020. France represents 15% of this turnover.

The opening of the Berlin office is a logical continuation of Microids’ growth, given that the German-speaking territory represents our second market in Europe after France. This will allow us to intensify our relations with local development studios and build a closer relationship with official German video game institutions.“, comments Julien Renzaho, appointed director of the Berlin office.
