Microids Records: Syberia, Flashback, Arkanoid, the music label unveils its first titles

This summer, the French publisher Microids unveiled his music label, Microids Records. Fans will thus be able to find the original soundtracks of their favorite games on streaming platforms and in physical editions. Today, the studio lifts the veil on the first “drop”, obviously with known names.

Syberia, Flashback, Arkanoid, Joe & Mac or Horse Taleshere are the franchises that will see their soundtracks land in digital and physical format, namely vinyl. Microids Records explains wanting to propose quality editions, “each soundtrack or album will be treated as a work of art in its own right”, enough to delight fans and collectors. Here is in detail the first arrival of Microids Records :


On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Syberia saga, Microids Records invites you to (re)discover two classic soundtracks from the Microids catalog, composed in 2004 and 2017 by Inon Zur, a recognized and award-winning composer whose notoriety goes beyond the game world video. Inon Zur is notably the creator of the soundtracks of Crysis, Prince Of Persia, Soulcalibur, Starfield, the Fallout series or even Dragon Age.

“I am thrilled with the release of the Syberia 2 and 3 soundtracks by Microids Records,” says Inon Zur. “The Syberia saga has always been dear to my heart, and the fact of having contributed to it represents for me a source of great pride. The musical universe of Syberia is and has always been one of my favorites among my repertoire. On the occasion of Flashback’s 30th anniversary, ARTtitude has produced a tribute album to celebrate the original tracks created by Jean Baudlot and arranged by Raphaël Gesqua. This album is composed of revisited pieces and original titles, totally exclusive and never released to date. Directed by the enigmatic Kurt Cobra, accompanied on two tracks by the heavy metal phenomenon on Youtube Charlie Parra Del Riego, this soundtrack, halfway between science fiction, synthwave and electronic music, brings an unprecedented cinematic touch to the Flashback universe.

The timeless brick breaker is back in a completely modernized version! Composed by Xavier Thiry, the game’s original soundtrack is adaptive and progressive, and fits perfectly into the game experience offered. Xavier Thiry is a composer, director and producer working in the worlds of music, TV, advertising and cinema. He has worked on numerous soundtracks for Pastagames, but also Arte, Darjeeling, DotEmu, Arkedo, and many others. The Arkanoid Eternal Battle soundtrack is his first original creation for Microids.

“It was incredible to immerse yourself in this iconic game again, and to run its original melody through a synthwave grinder,” says Xavier Thiry. “I hope this soundtrack will give its listeners as much pleasure as I had designing it! »


Expected from November 24, the famous pre-hysterical duo is back to face carnivorous dinosaurs and other carnivorous plants in an action-platform game straight from the Jurassic period! Microids Records invites you to discover, in preview, the original soundtrack produced by Raphaël Guesqua for Mr. Nutz Studio. A pioneer in the ‘Demoscene’ world since 1989, Raphaël Guesqua has established himself as a reference French composer with more than 100 soundtracks created for video games or cinema since 1991.

“I am very honored to contribute in 2022 to the Joe & Mac license, which I played on multiple media in my youth,” says Raphaël Guesqua. “It’s also a new opportunity, and above all a great pleasure, to work again with Pierre Adane and Philippe Dessoly, my old accomplices of more than 30 years. So thank you to Microids Records for allowing this exciting project to exist both musically and in any other area. »


With its large open world to explore, dozens of resources to collect and use, and the thrilling races it offers, Horse Tales – The Emerald Valley game is an adventure designed for many different profiles, including lovers. of horses. Microids Records invites you to discover this dreamlike soundtrack produced by Stefan Gonglach, Sound Designer and musician at Aesir Interactive.

“The soundtrack is a major element of the rich and relaxing atmosphere of Horse Tales,” adds Andreas Sirch, CEO of Aesir Interactive. “All tracks were produced within Aesir Interactive’s in-house recording studio, to make Emerald Valley a vibrant environment. We’re thrilled to give players the ability to listen to the soundtrack outside of the game, through our partnership with Microids Records.”

The original soundtracks of the games are already available to listen to on streaming platforms, while the vinyl albums will soon arrive in limited edition, in collaboration with international partners still unknown (but Black Screen Records already following Microids Records on Twitter, giving a hint).
