Microids will develop 3 new Garfield games

After garfield kart and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, the laziest cat in the world will continue his career in video games with Microids. We thus learn that we can count on 3 next games in the future.

A collaboration that has chat

Microids and ViacomCBS Products have announced the signing of a publishing contract which will allow the French publisher to exploit the rights of the Garfield license in order to develop three new games in the coming years. We do not yet know what forms they will take, but they should normally distinguish themselves with different genres (and why not a mobile game given the trends in the industry).

Alain Milly, Editorial Director at Microids declares: “We are delighted with the signing of this agreement with ViacomCBS Consumer Products! Garfield is a renowned and family license that fits perfectly into our catalog focused on recognized franchises and the general public. Following our previous successful collaborations on games like Garfield: Wild Ride and Garfield Kart Furious Racing, we are proud to be trusted again by ViacomCBS Consumer Products on these three new games.”

The choice seems logical in any case given that Microids is used to license adaptations of the world of comics (or comic strip for Garfield). Recently, for example, they released The Smurfs: Mission Malfeuille or even Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All!.
