Several weeks after the start of the festivities, it seems that Microsoft has finally fixed the Microsoft 365 connection problems.

Microsoft 365 applications finally patched?

For many customers, Microsoft 365 desktop applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) remained inaccessible for several weeks. If the company led by Satya Nadella quickly suggested some workarounds, in order to avoid these connection problems, users were still waiting for fixes.

In a report, the American giant then indicated this: “ When users try to sign in to Microsoft 365 desktop apps, they receive an error message. Error: Something Went Wrong [1001] “.

As a reminder, these connection errors concern both Microsoft 365 applications and applications in the version dedicated to businesses. Finally, note that the Office applications for iOS and Android are also affected.

Microsoft releases first fixes, but…

On November 14, Microsoft deployed new versions of Office, as reported to us by our colleagues at Bleeping Computer. The release of these fixes therefore helps to resolve some of the causes that could lead to these connection problems. On the Microsoft support page we can read that this update includes “ Fixes for some Office sign-in failure scenarios “.

If the problem is mostly resolved, “ it is always possible that the connection fails for a different problem or scenario », Indicates Microsoft. In other words, “ not all issues will be fixed by a single update “.

As you will have understood, you are not yet safe from having to face possible connection problems. The company nevertheless tells us that other updates should be deployed later, and that these inconveniences will require several updates to be definitively resolved.
