Windows 11: the March update is acting up
March 14 was the second Tuesday of the month. And who says second Tuesday of the month, also says day of publication of the traditional “Patch Tuesday”. As usual, his mission was to come and solve the security problems of your operating system. But as you can imagine, unfortunately not everything went as planned.
We told you about it at the end of last week, the last update caused many problems. Among them, we were able to notice the presence of performance issues related to the SSD. If we were waiting for a reaction from Microsoft, we now know that the giant has finally become aware of the situation.
A fix should be deployed soon
Among the issues that some Windows 11 customers experienced following the release of the March update was also a bug within Windows Defender. A repeated alert prompted users to enable local security protection when it was already enabled. As proof that Microsoft was indeed aware of the problem, here is what the company said on its official blog, as reported to us by the site Windows Latest :
“After installing ‘Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus Anti-Malware Platform – KB5007651’, you may receive a security notification or warning stating “Local security protection is disabled. Your device may be vulnerable” , and once the protections are activated, your Windows device may constantly ask that a restart is needed. »
As a reminder, update KB5007651 was released last week for Windows 11 22H2 users. And rather than solving the already known problems, this one caused new ones. The joys of computing, you know what it is… Anyway, there is now no shadow of a doubt that the Redmond firm will release a new patch very soon (and hopefully this will be the right one, this time…).
