A few days after Google rolled out Chrome 99
it’s Edge 99’s turn to be approached by the general public.
On the program, some improvements in the management of profiles and passwords saved in the internet browser.
What’s new for Edge 99?
Edge 99 is available to everyone. A new version a little shy in terms of new features and which does not bring major changes before those of Edge 100, which we imagine to be more substantial. It will at least have the merit of improving the management of profiles. Now, Microsoft web browser users can create a list of predefined sites to associate with each profile. More concretely, Edge will automatically change profile depending on the sites. For example, if a teleworker has a profile dedicated to his work, he can force the browser to use only this profile on professional sites in order to avoid connecting with another one.
The new version of Edge also improves navigation between PDF documents, letting viewers use the preview thumbnails on the left panel to navigate between pages. There is also a change in password management. Users can now choose the domain names and sites where they want to disable the automatic filling of login data, but not only. Also with a view to preventing someone from using your account without your knowledge using your saved passwords, Edge 99 adds a “primary password” option to be entered before you can log in thanks to autofill . A welcome new layer of security that must be activated in the password manager.
