Microsoft is rolling out a new version of Skype
for members of the Insider program.

An update that brings its share of fixes, but also looks at the conflict in Ukraine.

Free Skype calls to and from Ukraine

The new version 8.82 of Skype allows Microsoft to make calls to and from Ukraine completely free. A feature obviously linked to the conflict currently underway in the country, and which is available on all versions of Skype.

This new version of Skype also includes emoticons in support of Ukraine, as well as support for translating phone calls into Ukrainian. The Redmond company also recently announced the suspension of sales of its new products in Russia for an indefinite period. This is also the case of another American giant, namely Apple.

Microsoft also says it is working proactively to help cybersecurity officials in Ukraine defend against Russian attacks. The American firm promises to have already acted against attacks against more than 20 Ukrainian organizations in government, IT and the financial sector.
