Microsoft announced an overhaul of Copilot, its conversational artificial intelligence (AI). Refined design and new features: the Redmond firm is preparing for its product to be promoted with great fanfare during the SuperBowl this Monday, February 12.

It’s been a year since Microsoft deployed AI in Bing, capitalizing on its billions of dollars injected into OpenAI and making Google shudder. If the search engine is still very far from Search and its 91% market share, the software giant has moved into a completely different dimension. By choosing to deploy generative AI in almost all of its products through Copilot, Microsoft is establishing itself as a leader in a sector that continues to grow. Its market capitalization has even surpassed that of Apple.

Office Suite, Windows, mobile, desktop… Microsoft Copilot is gradually appearing in all of the company’s key software and services. Available free of charge to everyone, it also offers increased capacities for its paying subscribers, professionals or individuals. And precisely, the Redmond firm chose one of the most notable events in the United States to promote its new flagship product.

She bought an advertising insert during the final of the American football championship, better known as the SuperBowl. The event is watched each year by more than 100 million viewers: companies are ready to spend millions to get a spot there. An initiative which demonstrates the pivot of Microsoft, which is now banking on AI to stimulate all of its activities.

For the occasion, the company has revised the design of its product, both on the mobile application and on desktop. It offers a streamlined experience with clearer answers, while a carousel of suggestions accompanied by visuals is highlighted.

Improved image generation

Microsoft also takes the opportunity to announce improvements in the creation of images of its model based on DALL-E 3. For example, the Designer option now allows you to modify the generated images without having to leave the chatbot. Subscribers to Copilot Pro now have the ability to resize visuals in landscape format.

The Designer GPT feature will soon be deployed in Copilot, Microsoft announced in a press release. Users will thus have a “ dedicated immersive canvas to visualize their ideas “. AI users have generated more than 5 billion images since its launch.

AI is the defining technology of our time. Microsoft’s advances in this area are part of our mission to empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more. », concludes the company.
