The number sends shivers down the spine, but says a lot about the need to make the web safer for everyone, and Microsoft is working on that.
In addition to fighting against these tens of billions of cyberattacks, the Redmond firm is launching a new information tool for everyone.
Cyber Signals is officially launched by Microsoft
Cyberattacks are still as numerous as they are varied, with, nothing for this year 2021, 35.7 billion email phishing attempts blocked by Windows Defender, and nearly 25.6 billion attacks repelled against of Microsoft Azure AD, according to the firm founded by Bill Gates.
And, to better inform its users, Microsoft is working on a new tool called Cyber Signals. This aims to provide a quarterly report on cybersecurity, the main threats, but also the actions taken by Microsoft in this regard. The challenge is also to act collectively, in particular with technology and information security managers as well as privacy protection players, with the aim of making the services of the Redmond firm always more efficient.
Cyber Signals intends to promote a decryption of attack types such as strategies and techniques employed by web hackers to be as informative as possible. It must be said that the Web is always larger, with nearly 40 countries and 140 evil groups under surveillance as well as 24,000 billion (!) security alert signals analyzed. In total, 8,500 people are employed by Microsoft in order to secure the firm’s services as much as possible and to abort cyberattack attempts. And there is no indication that 2022 will escape this growing trend.
