Microsoft has temporarily suspended Windows 11 2023 Update (23H2) due to a bug. The company is working on a fix and advises users not to manually update their device to Windows 11 2023 in the meantime.
For the record, Copilot is an assistant using AI: increasingly present in Windows 11, but also integrated with Microsoft 365, it can help users perform tasks on the OS, such as entering text, translating languages, and writing code. Launched in preliminary version a few months ago, it is available for all Windows 11 users since the deployment of version 2023 of the OS.
Copilot is therefore very useful… when it works well. Gold, a bug was discovered with the latest Windows 11 update which interferes with the proper functioning of Copilot. Here’s what Microsoft explains:
“Windows devices using more than one monitor might experience issues with desktop icons moving unexpectedly between monitors, or other icon alignment issues when using Copilot in Windows (in preview) .”

The bug in question affects devices with multiple monitors. When Copilot is used on these devices, the desktop icons may move unexpectedly between monitors or be misaligned. This bug can be annoying. For example, if a user has one monitor for work and another for entertainment, the bug may cause a confusion between the icons of the two monitors, thus altering the initial organization. Microsoft therefore suspended Windows 11 2023 Update (23H2).
Even more annoying: some users who have carried out this update no longer have access to Copilot at all. A problem that sometimes causes a lot of hassle for those who have already gotten used to using the assistant.
Microsoft has identified that this issue is specifically related to version 19045.3758 (KB5032278) of the Windows 11 operating system. The team is currently working on a patch. The company hasn’t given a release date for this patch, but it should be available very soon via a patch update. Windows 11. Until the patch is released, Windows 11 users with multiple monitors are advised not to manually update their device to Windows 11 version 23H2. They can continue to use Copilot on their current version of Windows 11, which is not affected by this bug.
