Microsoft has given Teams, the natively implemented video conferencing application in Windows 11 that officially replaces Skype, a feature that should appeal to people who can’t stand swear words.
Microsoft announced on its blog the deployment of two new features for Teams, the videoconferencing application of the Microsoft 365 suite, formerly Office. The first is a feature that allows you to censor insults uttered in a conversation live video, while the other has more options for customizing subtitle placement and appearance.

On the company’s blog, the designers of Teams say, “We’ve added an option to disable profanity filtering for live captions. This will allow you toview live captions and transcript without filtering or masking, displaying each word as it is. Filtering is enabled by default. If you wish to disable it, you must do so from the captions and transcript tab in your user settings. This is a user-level preferencewhich is not controlled by the meeting organizer or administrator”.

Still in the realm of live transcription, you will notice that the window where the subtitles are displayed has slightly changed in appearance. Microsoft Teams will better display “the full name of the person speaking […] We also have increased the number of lines displayed by default from 2 to 3, with the ability to expand the window to display additional rows”. So many features which, added to the possibility of linking to a specific message in the conversation, should greatly improve the efficiency of meetings.
Teams Premium subscribers will be able to choose the language in which they want the video conference to be translated and, icing on the cake, the Styles section will allow you to apply four different styles to your captions. You can change the font color, set the panel height, set the panel position and/or change the font size”.
