With the rise of telecommuting over the past two years, video conferencing apps have become more essential than ever for certain companies. And among these applications, we obviously find Microsoft Teamswhich will very soon welcome highly anticipated new features…

If you are one of those who are used to participating in work meetings via Teams, then the arrival of these new features could be of great interest to you.

Microsoft Teams: making working from home easier

It is first of all a feature already known to Microsoft Outlook users which will make its arrival in Teams. Indeed, when planning an appointment via the calendar, it will now be possible to display you as “busy” so that one of your collaborators can not count you among the members present. Users of the application will be able to mark themselves as “free”, “busy” or “out of office”. What simplify non-verbal communication within your company. Note that the calendar will also host a private meeting feature.

The “Together” mode of Teams will meet a slight redesign, no less practical. You will soon be able to set this mode as the default view for each participant in a meeting. If, until now, each member had to systematically apply this mode, it will now be possible to define it by default for the entire collective.

So here are two new features that have been particularly requested since the start of the pandemic and which will arrive very soon on PC and Mac. The ability to set the default “Together” mode is slated to land next month in Microsoft Teams, while the new calendar feature is expected to appear sometime in June.
