Microtransactions in Diablo 4? This time Blizzard lets players have a say

With Diablo Immortal overflowing with microtransactions, many fans are naturally worried that Diablo 4 won’t be spared either. With the help of a survey, Blizzard is now turning to the players themselves and asking them for their opinion.

Diablo 4: what microtransactions are in the game

More than ten years after the release of Diablo 3, more and more information about Diablo 4 is finally coming to light. It also becomes clear that the long-awaited RPG sequel will not be spared from microtransactions.

In the Diablo 4 subreddit, a fan now even shares a poll that contains some information about the different editions, certain pre-order bonuses and also cosmetic adjustments. Unfortunately, you can’t just take part. Blizzard only sent the survey to certain players.

With the survey Blizzard wants to find out how much money the players would pay for certain additional content. For example, an edition of the game might include a mount and armor skins for the five classes. In addition, the survey also speaks of a Battle Pass with cosmetic rewards and early access for up to seven days. Particularly interesting: There will be an in-game currency called platinum that can be used to buy cosmetic items in the shop.

Will Diablo 4 be a new Diablo Immortal?

Even if the survey already suggests some microtransactions, fans do not have to fear a second Diablo Immortal directly. After all, the survey also makes it clear that the items on offer will be purely cosmetic and thus will not affect gameplay.

The prices are probably only placeholders that Blizzard wants to use to estimate what players would be willing to spend more money on. Ultimately, we can only wait and see if the developers manage the tightrope act around the right amount of microtransactions this time.
