Midjourney v6 activates turbo mode

While waiting for the arrival of Midjourney v6 in beta version, the artificial intelligence image generation tool gains a new operating mode: turbo. It allows you to produce visuals much faster, but at a higher price.

This is a new string that Midjourney has just added to its bow. On the morning of March 7, the platform specializing in the generation of images by artificial intelligence (AI) announced the release of a “turbo mode” for version 6 of Midjourney. It is still in the development phase, for a final launch later this year.

Faster image generation

As one might guess, this turbo mode results in generating visuals much more quickly than with the current settings. According to details provided by Midjourney on its Discord channel, an image produced with turbo mode is produced 3.5 times faster (in 10 seconds instead of 35, on average).

This boost, however, comes with one condition: it will draw more on the usage time “credits” that Internet users have with their subscription plan. According to Midjourney, this mode costs “ twice as expensive » since it mobilizes “ the world’s fastest graphics processors. »

To operate the turbo, you need to type the “/turbo” command on Discord or on the very recent website set up by Midjourney. Once the order is placed, complete your instructions as usual. Removing turbo mode requires entering “/settings” and unchecking the mode to choose another (normal or relaxed).

Midjourney launched an alpha version of v6 of its tool in December and is currently working on the arrival of the beta version. This new version is even more efficient than the previous ones, in particular in details that are difficult to draw, but also in the faithful transcription of the text that is given to add to the image.
