DIn a tweet relayed by tens of thousands of Internet users, Elon Musk on Monday called on Americans to vote for the Republican Party in the midterm elections on Tuesday, in the name of the balance between the executive and legislative powers. “Power sharing limits the worst excesses, so I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the presidency is a Democrat,” the new Twitter boss tweeted to his 114 million followers.
Elon Musk clarified that he was addressing “independent-minded voters”, the only ones able, according to him, to tilt the majorities in Congress. This vote recommendation from Elon Musk will not fail to fuel concerns among Americans who fear a possible political use of the social network by the billionaire. The boss of Tesla and SpaceX promised that Twitter would remain politically neutral and that all opinions could be expressed there.
Hardcore Democrats or Republicans never vote for the other side, so independent voters are the ones who actually decide who’s in charge!

The Americans will vote Tuesday for the midterm elections, in order to renew all the seats of the House of Representatives, more than a third of the Senate and about thirty governorships. In a tense climate, with Republican candidates threatening not to recognize a possible defeat, Elon Musk blew on the embers, just like Russia earlier in the day. “We interfered, we do and we will continue to do so. Carefully, precisely, surgically, in our own way,” a Russian businessman close to the Kremlin, Yevgeny Prigojine, said on Monday.
