During the last “Star Academy” (TF1) bonus, singer Mika accompanied Axel on stage to perform his song “Happy Ending”… and found himself with one of his shoes in his hand.

And beyond the emotion that this can give them, these one-night duets are an opportunity to spend surprising, moving and sometimes funny moments. Saturday November 25, Axel was moved to tears after discovering live that he would sing with his idol Florent Pagny. During the previous prime, viewers were intrigued by Isabelle Adjani’s strangely distant behavior with Pierre. Even before, it was a blunder by Jenifer which almost tainted her duo with Lénie. This Saturday, December 2, it was the singer Mika who decided to make a joke live to one of his scene partners, Axel.
After performing an intimate version of his hit “Relax” with Lénie, the Franco-Lebanese singer launched into a complicit cover of “Elle me dit” with Pierre, to finish with his title “Happy Ending” with Axel. A medley full of energy and emotion, punctuated by the Gospel group for 100 voices and the philharmonic orchestra conducted by Matthieu Gonet. And Mika himself decided to add his two cents : while Axel, held by a harness, rose towards the ceiling of the stage to sing suspended above the void, her scene partner decided to grab one of her shoes to take it off her. Nothing to surprise the young man, who continued his interpretation without a false note. “But give him back his shoe!” exclaimed Nikos Aliagas once the piece was finished.

In addition to his little joke, Mika seemed delighted to have shared his songs with Lénie, Pierre and Axel. “Three great singers. Honestly, it made me very happy”, he told Nikos Aliagas. He was full of praise, revealing that he adapted to the style of his partners: “Singing a cover of someone else’s is doable. But when you do it with the person who does it all the time, that’s when it can become destabilizing and, frankly, I was so impressed that I approached your versions“, did he declare. A comment that will not fail to encourage the three students, as the competition becomes increasingly tough as the weeks go by.
