More trouble for Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher. The creators of their series “Stoner Cats” have to pay a fine of millions.
Things don’t seem to be going well for Mila Kunis, 40, and Ashton Kutcher, 45, at the moment. For the second time in a week, the Hollywood couple finds themselves in the middle of a controversy. The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has suspended the creators of the NFT-funded animated series “Stoner Cats,” which involved Kunis and Kutcher. sentenced to a million-dollar fine.
The production company sold more than 10,000 NFTs in July 2021, making a profit of around eight million US dollars and is said to have carried out an unregistered offering of crypto asset securities. According to the SEC, the production company agreed to a cease-and-desist order and to pay a $1 million civil penalty.
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher were involved in “Stoner Cats” as voice actors alongside stars like Chris Rock, 58, Jane Fonda, 85, and Seth MacFarlane, 49. According to IMDb Kunis also worked as a producer.
Controversy following letters for convicted Danny Masterson
Just a few days ago, the couple found themselves at the center of a controversy. Before the sentence was announced in the case of Danny Masterson, 47, they wrote letters to the judge responsible and emphasized the great influence their former “The Wild Seventies” colleague had on them. Kutcher described the actor convicted of rape according to People as a good role model who saved him from leading “a typical Hollywood life full of drugs.” Kunis wrote about an “incredible friend” who was also “a confidant” for her “and, above all, an outstanding figure of an older brother.”
