Shortly after midnight, on the night of Friday to Saturday, a man was attacked with an ax near the Père Lachaise cemetery, in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, rue de Buzenval, report our colleagues from Parisian.
Two walkers, witnesses of the scene, found the victim, lying on the ground, his skull sunken. The man is currently in intensive care, between life and death. The walkers managed to scare away the attacker, who in his run, ax in hand, lost his identity papers.
Caught up by the BAC
The witnesses gave a precise description of the attacker to the police officers of the anti-crime brigade (BAC), who arrived quickly on the scene. They managed to find the suspect a few streets away, confusing him thanks to his photo ID.
The 54-year-old was taken into custody. An investigation was opened and entrusted to the judicial police.
