After a postponement due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Miss World 2021 committee announced a new date for the beauty pageant. France will be represented there by April Benayoum, 1st runner-up to Amandine Petit.
A coincidence of timing is not without delighting April Benayoum. On December 16, when the Miss World 2021 election was to be held in Puerto Rico, the ceremony was finally canceled due to too many cases of Covid-19, forcing the committee to postpone the event. A disappointment for the First runner-up of Miss France 2021, elected Miss Provence 2020, who had prepared to face a hundred candidates from around the world to win the title of beauty queen. But fortunately, she will not have to wait long before continuing her adventure, since the new date of the election has been set for March 16.
“Competitors from all around the globe will therefore return to this enchanting island to compete for the coveted Miss World crown in March “, thus announced the committee. And the timing is perfect for April Benayoum, as she shared on her Instagram account. “The Miss World election has been postponed until March 16. Coincidence: my birthday. So I will celebrate my 23 years in Puerto Rico, with all the misses. I’m not ready to forget this anniversary, that’s for sure “, thus entrusted the young woman, who hopes to be offered as a gift, the title of Miss World 2021, as well as the crown and the scarf that go with it.
Which former Miss participated in Miss Universe 2021?
To devote herself fully to her adventure Amandine Petit, who was recently succeeded by Diane Leyre, had put aside international competitions, thus giving way to April Benayoum for the election of Miss World 2021, and her predecessor Clémence Botino to that of Miss Universe 2021. A candidate who climbed into the Top 10, and who notably shares a beautiful friendship with Miss France 2021, of whom she is “very close”. “Clémence is my big sister from the Misses, had thus confided to Star TV Amandine Petit.
