The identification of the dead has now been completed, as the sheriff’s office in the California district of San Bernardino announced on Tuesday. Now it is clear: It is the 65-year-old actor Julian Sands. Sands, who became known for his role in “Room with a View”, among other things, has been missing from Mount San Antonio since a hike in mid-January. The 65-year-old is an experienced mountain hiker, having crossed the Andes in the 1990s.

Also known as Mount Baldy, Mount San Antonio, at 10,000 feet, is the highest peak in the San Gabriel mountain range and a popular hiking destination near Los Angeles, California.
Bad weather earlier in the year had meant difficult conditions prevailed in the region. The sheriff’s office issued a warning about hiking in January due to dangerous weather conditions with ice and snow.
In his career, Julian Sands has appeared in numerous films and series – such as “Naked Lunch”, “The Killing Fields”, “Leaving Las Vegas”, “Arachnophabia”, “Smallville”, “24” and most recently “What/If”. . The actor’s brother said two weeks after the search began that he accepted that Sands would not be found alive.
