Missing young man found dead in Dordogne


His car had been found in the parking lot behind the restaurant where he worked, his belongings on the ground nearby. He was discovered dead on Friday.

A 22-year-old young man, who disappeared overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday on leaving his job in Marsac-sur-l’Isle (Dordogne), was found dead on Friday not far from this town near Périgueux, a the prosecution announced on Friday. The body of the young man was found “around 1:00 p.m. in the town of Chancelade”, said in a press release the public prosecutor of Périgueux Solène Belaouar.

He shows no visible lesions or traces of violence.

A judicial investigation had been opened on the counts of “arrest, kidnapping, kidnapping or arbitrary detention” after the “unexplained” disappearance of young Loïc Douhot. He had disappeared “after 12:30 a.m., when he left his service at McDonald’s”, according to the prosecution which, in a second press release, indicated that “the examination of the body did not make it possible to determine the cause of death. In particular, he shows no visible injury or trace of violence”.

A search had been organized on Friday morning to find Loïc, whose disappearance had quickly worried his relatives. On leaving work, he had sent an SMS to his friend writing “I’m done. I’m going home,” said France-Bleu Périgord. His car had been found in the parking lot behind the restaurant, his belongings on the ground nearby. The judicial police of Bordeaux and its branch in the Dordogne were responsible for the investigation.
