Missy Elliott
First headlining tour for the Queen of Rap
With old companions as guests: Missy Elliott is going on a US tour as a headliner for the first time in her career.
“This is an incredible time in my life as I experience so many milestones,” Missy Elliott said in a statement quoted by “The Hollywood Reporter” among others. “I am the first female hip-hop artist inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and am now embarking on my first headlining tour,” it continues.
Fans had always asked her about a big tour, but she “wanted to wait until I felt like the time was right, because I knew if I was ever going to do it, I had to do it big, and I had to do with the family!”
Summer tour of 24 North American cities
“Out of this World – The Missy Elliott Experience” is the name of the tour. It starts on July 4, 2024 in Vancouver, Canada and runs through a total of 24 cities in North America. The finale will be a performance on August 22nd in Rosemont, Illinois. Tickets go on sale on April 9th.
Missy Elliott became rap’s first female superstar in the mid-1990s. In addition to her own songs, she also wrote songs for other acts, such as Destiny’s Child, together with her sandbox friend Timbaland. She has been on tour several times, whether solo or with colleagues like Beyoncé (42) and Alicia Keys (43) – but never as a headliner with co-stars in her luggage.
