Model class: Cachou reveals his salary at the time in the cult series

That was nearly thirty years ago… In 1993, Anne-Charlotte Pontabry, known under the pseudonym of Cachou, became a star by interpreting Victoire in the series Mannequin Class. Invited on the set of TPMP People, on C8, Saturday October 8, 2022, the young woman agreed to come back to this time, and in particular to her salary. In all transparency, the actress confided: “In the end, it wasn’t that much. We started quite low and we were raised the second year.” Thereby, Cachou assured to have been paid 2500 francs per episode, or 300,000 francs over two years. Referring to her desires, she said: “I would love to resume (…) Me what I would love is to make a very beautiful series, a 6X52, historical or not, or a comedy whether on TF1, Netflix, anything. I find that today, TVs, productions do super quality things, there is less cinema, but there are a lot more TV movies, quality series, I would love to.“

During the first confinement, Cachou found a passion for cooking and released a recipe book. She thus confided on the set: “I have always been very greedy, I like to eat well, and during confinement (…) You had to take care of yourself, feed your family, I was quite proud of my stuff. I was taking small photos and one day I was offered to do live cooking and I loved the exercise. I had the impression of being very comfortable (…) Following that, I was asked to make other videos, and I got into the game, and that’s it!“

Cachou: “We were cute and normal girls”

In 2021 for Blue News, the young woman had evoked the success of the series which made her known. With nostalgia, she remembered: “The actors were easily accessible, people easily identified with us. We weren’t inaccessible like the top models who were then international stars. We were cute, normal chicks. The public identified more easily with the Model Class actresses than with Cindy Crawford or Claudia Schiffer!“Evoking his role as a plague, Cachou had slipped:”Even today, women tell me that they hated me in Classe Mannequin, whereas in real life, I look quite nice! I feel like it scarred me. This proves that I was good at acting. I took a lot of pleasure in playing the unbearable bitch. It was a real composition role, because I’m obviously not like that in life.“
