Recently made official by Infinity Ward and Activisionwe now know a lot more about the next FPS Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 which, we hope, will allow the license to regain some of its splendor.
The time has therefore come for us to take stock with you of everything there is to know about the latter, with among other things its release date, its campaign, its modes, its operators, its different editions but also other things that will be part of the game.
When will Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 be available and which edition should I choose?
This is certainly the most important question that all Call of Duty players ask themselves. When will Modern Warfare 2 be available? Well, it was when the first images of Infinity Ward’s FPS were made official and released that the answer came! Modern Warfare 2 will therefore appear on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC (via Steam and Battle.net) from October 28, 2022. Nevertheless, and as you can imagine, it will not be available on Xbox Game Pass.
In addition, there are several versions already available for pre-order, with the so-called standard version (or cross-gen for consoles), and the Vault Edition which includes certain bonuses.

All about the different Multiplayer Modes
One of the key points of a Call of Duty is obviously its Multiplayer. If at the time of writing these lines we still have not had the chance to have the first images of gameplay, the studio has however given several interesting information on the latter.
First of all, Modern Warfare 2 will allow players to discover two completely new modes entitled Prisoner Rescue and Knockout.
prisoner rescue will look like a game well known to fans of strategy mixing FPS, namely Rainbow Six Siege. In the latter, two teams will have to compete, with one having the goal of rescuing two hostages, while the other team will have to prevent the enemies from saving the victims.
As for Knockout, it will mostly be Skirmish but remixed. Indeed, in the latter, players will fight for control of a deck and will once again be split into two teams, 6v6, and will only have one life. However, despite this constraint, if a player falls, his teammates will be able to revive him.
Finally, another mode will also be available, but it is a known mode: Special operations. First appearing in 2009’s Modern Warfare, players will need to demonstrate teamwork and cooperation against smarter AIs than ever before.

Modern Warfare 2 will be full of new equipment
To perfect these modes, Modern Warfare 2 has planned the introduction of several new equipment which will prove very useful. Among these, players will find a tactical camera, a drill load, a DDOS and an inflatable lure.
These small gadgets will aim to make life easier for players to trap enemies or monitor them in peace. For example, the inflatable lure will deploy when an opponent passes by, and will move towards said enemy. The DDOS will allow you to deactivate absolutely all player equipment, much like an EMP grenade available in Black Ops Cold War with the Zero Operator specialty.
It was on the dates of June 8 and 9 that we had the right to the first images of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. If the title of Infinity Ward seems to offer a real turning point in the history of the franchise, the novelties will be appropriate for the FPS.
New armory and shooting range
In addition to the new features mentioned above, Modern Warfare 2 will also offer a new way to equip weapons some accessories.
Finished the multitude of accessories to put on and hello to all the variants of weapons! Indeed, the developers have said that Modern Warfare 2 will feature a whole new way to equip.
For this, two new features will be added with Platforms and Attachment Tuning. What they call Platforms is actually the ability for our Agents to unlock all variants of a base weapon. As for what they call Attachment Tuning, this is the possibility for players to modify each accessory (three per weapon normally) with positive points and negative points so as not to have an overpowered weapon.
Finally, to test all this, a shooting range will be available, because yes, we have to admit, we will all be a little lost at first. From what we know, the shooting range should be available via the game menu when we are modifying a weapon.
For several days now, information has been flowing about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. And if we have already heard of several of them, the title of Infinity Ward but also the next Battle Royale should allow players to test their weapons!
The reworked SBMM
Good news for gamers! The developers have announced that the SBMM system has been reworked, so that the FPS is absolutely playable for all players. We explain.
The SBMM today consists of bringing together players with roughly the same level, which tenses the community a little, it must be admitted. Nevertheless, for Modern Warfare 2, the latter should allow players to end up with low level bots, so that they can fully enjoy the game. Yes, Infinity Ward wants to allow players with disabilities to be able to do some headshots!
There is a very sensitive subject for Call of Duty players: the SBMM. And if it will be present in the title of Infinity Ward, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it would nevertheless seem that the latter has been reworked by the developers. We will explain everything to you.
A campaign with a luxury cast
At the time of writing these lines, only a few operators have been revealed through the various trailers of the game. Nevertheless, the first characters presented promise great games of Multiplayer but also of Campaign.
Modern Warfare 2 has indeed a cast of first choice with Captain Price, Sergeant Kyle Gaz Garrick, Sergeant Soap MacTavish, Ghost, and finally Colonel Alejandro Vargas Mexican special forces. However, other names have circulated, and according to some rumors, we should also find Rya Khilstedt in the role of Laswell, Claudia Doumit in that of Farah Karim, and finally the actor Warren Kole even if his character remains at the current time unknown.
Freshly made official by Infinity Ward and Activision, we have already had the right to a glimpse of a few operators who will therefore be present in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. If we can find Captain Price and Ghost, they will not be alone.
And concerning the “we say”?
You are aware that for several months, but also since the formalization of the game, several rumors have emerged around Modern Warfare 2.
To begin with, rumors announced a new mode called DMZ, an Escape from Tarkov-style tactical extraction. However, at the time of writing, nothing has been denied or formalized by Infinity Ward. Maybe we’ll get more news when the Multiplayer gameplay footage is revealed? If this were to be confirmed, players should take advantage of at least 4 maps, with a daily day/night cycle system as well as so-called dynamic weather.
Since the formalization of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, several rumors have naturally emerged, and among them, several information concerning the new mode called DMZ. While it’s hard to follow all the leakers say, we’re going to take stock of what we know.
Moreover, still according to some leaks, a map editor could also make an appearance in the title. On the program of the latter, the possibility for players to be able to modify their favorite maps with spawn points, decorative elements and much more.
