Mods missing from Cities Skylines II for its launch

In an article published on its forums, Paradox Interactive made an announcement that may disappoint many players. Cities Skylines II will not benefit from mods for its launch. In fact, the publisher has chosen not to use Steam Workshop as a distribution channel for its city builder mods. Instead, the company plans to use Paradox Mods, its own custom cross-platform mod library.

Problem, the version of Paradox Mods designed for Cities Skylines is not enough for the second opus. The channel is therefore absolutely not ready for the launch of City Skylines II, scheduled for October 24. You will therefore have to wait before being able to enjoy the title with mods.

Very bad news for a game whose launch already raises many questions. After postponing its console release to spring 2024, Cities Skylines II should also have performance issues on PC. A problem confirmed by the studio which admits that its title “requires certain hardware requirements”. The concern is therefore present, to the point of wondering if a postponement would not have been beneficial for the good reception of the game signed by Colossal Order.
