Moët Hennessy: the EU clears the acquisition of Tannico

(CercleFinance.com) – The European Commission has cleared the acquisition of joint control of Tannico, based in Italy, by Moët Hennessy and Campari based in the Netherlands.

Tannico is active, in particular in Italy, in the online retail sale of wines and spirits through its e-commerce platform.

The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns as Moët Hennessy and Campari would not have the capacity or the incentive to restrict the access of competing wine and spirits producers and wholesalers to retailers online, especially in Italy.
