Monica Bellucci has confirmed rumors of a relationship with Tim Burton. In an interview, she emphasized that she loves him.
At the beginning of the year there were rumors about a relationship between Italian actress Monica Bellucci (58) and the American director Tim Burton (64). Now she confirmed this in an interview with the French magazine “Elle”.
She is looking forward to a new adventure
She is considered one of the most beautiful women in the world – and now she is probably one of the happiest. Because compared to the current french “elle” she enthused enthusiastically about her new partner. “What can I say…I’m glad I met this man,” she explained in the cover interview, for which she also wrote on her Instagram page advertises. It was “one of those encounters that rarely happen in life”. She continued: “I know the man, I love him and now that I meet the director, a new adventure begins.”
She also said: “I love Tim. And I have great respect for Tim Burton.” Of his work, she said, “I love this dream world where the monsters are kind, like we can turn our dark sides into something bright, forgiving.” Burton’s films told a lot about that. The couple is currently working together in London on the film “Beetlejuice 2”. The strip is scheduled to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.
The couple have known each other since 2006
Rumors of a liaison between the stars had already surfaced in February. The French newspaper “Paris Match” reported at the time that the two sparked at the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon in October 2022. Bellucci presented Burton with the Lumiere Lifetime Achievement Award. Since then they have been seen together again and again, for example in the Spanish capital Madrid. They were spotted kissing outside The Ritz Paris hotel on Valentine’s Day. They have known each other for many years: They are said to have met for the first time in 2006 at the Cannes Film Festival.
They each have two children
Monica Bellucci separated from her husband Vincent Cassel (56) in August 2013. She married the French actor in 1999. The couple have two daughters, Deva (18) and Léonie (12). Tim Burton also brings two children into the relationship: with British actress Helena Bonham Carter (57) he had son Billy (19) and daughter Nell (15). The relationship lasted from 2001 to 2014. From 1987 to 1991 he was married to the German painter Lena Gieseke (57).
