A Steam release that boosts sales at the start of the year
Capcom today announced that monster hunter rise has been distributed over 8 million copies worldwide. Recall that in October 2021, the firm specified that the figure amounted to 7.5 million copies. It goes without saying that the recent release of the PC version has given sales a nice boost.
Monster Hunter World is still monstrous with its 20 million copies distributed, but remember that monster hunter rise was only released on Switch on March 26, 2021 and recently on PC. This gives a very good score for the title in a very short period of time. Capcom does not intend to stop there and plans to inflate its audience even more with the major extension “Sunbreak” expected for this summer on Switch and PC. Like Monster Hunter World Iceborne, this should indeed boost sales even more and attract new hunters.
This shows us all the more that World wasn’t just a bang, and the franchise has definitely moved beyond its niche game status.
