The “Krone” reported several times on problems in the Ottakring clinic. Another danger indicator causes a stir – several senior physicians warn of a failure of the emergency room. A doctor from the ward adds: “The mood is in the basement. The perceived inactivity of the higher authorities causes frustration. Apparently there is no awareness of the problem.” Many colleagues have already turned their backs on the clinic. “Of course you ask around. Many are also looking to Burgenland with interest,” reports the doctor. In addition, the many emergency exits would be a problem. The numbers show that the Ottakring clinic is the target most often. “The times when rescues arrive every minute are problematic. Then we have patients piling up. How are you supposed to take care of them if, for example, we have been waiting four years for a new ultrasound device or nothing is progressing with digitalization? Palliative care is also difficult to achieve. The necessary care for end-of-life care then falls by the wayside.”
