Morbihan: one dead in the crash of a tourist plane


A sexagenarian died on Saturday April 9 in an aircraft accident in Plouhinec in Morbihan.

The deceased is a 65-year-old man, the other person present, a 35-year-old woman, “is practically unscathed”, but was however transported for a check-up at a hospital in Lorient, the department’s firefighters said. The accident took place around 10:20 a.m., according to the same source.

According to information from Ouest-France, the pilot took off from Lann-Bihoué airport, near Lorient, towards Quiberon.

In full flight, the man would have suffered a heart attack, leading to the fall of the aircraft.

The passenger, who was taking her first flight lesson, took over the controls to prevent the plane from crashing into the surrounding homes.
