“Not only the locals appreciate the Slow Food idea, but also more and more holiday guests,” says Gottfried Bachler, chairman of Slow Food Carinthia. And that’s why the club wants to push its idea even further. Not only in schools – 18 schools are now dealing with sustainable ideas – Slow Food should also be promoted even more in tourism, because: “More and more holidaymakers in Carinthia are attaching importance to sustainable food,” says Klaus Ehrenbrandtner, head of Kärnten Werbe . And it is precisely these holidaymakers who bring a lot of money into the company’s coffers. “On average, they spend 176 euros per day on cuisine alone.”
