An 8.4-inch 1600p display
In the case of OneXplayer, we go much further, and our colleagues from VideoCardz today illustrate the OneXplayer 2 Pro, whose versatility is impressive thanks to an astonishing modular concept.
The OneXplayer brand belongs to the OneNetbook company, which has been working for several months on new devices based on Ryzen 7000, AMD’s latest APU. It’s no secret, especially since many other Chinese companies are doing the same. However, the OneXplayer 2 Pro is very ambitious.
First of all, it is indeed a question of an 8.4-inch screen (compared to 7 inches on the ROG Ally and Steam Deck), with a definition of 2,560 x 1,600 points, very much higher than that of its competitors which cap at Full HD, at best.
Detachable controllers, Bluetooth keyboard
In principle, such an image definition is however of little interest: the most powerful Ryzen 7000 will not be enough to run games correctly at 1440p anyway, so 1600p, you can imagine.
No, the interest of this panel lies in the versatility it allows and which the Chinese company intends to exploit with, for example, the possibility of associating a mini-keyboard with it to make it a kind of ultra-compact laptop. . Better, OneXplayer has provided detachable controls, so that in the “work” position, the screen is no longer adorned with these mini-sticks.
If the company seems to have made good progress in its concept and even already launched production, it does not yet give much information. The OneXplayer 2 Pro will be equipped with a maximum of 64 GB of LPDDR5X and a PCIe Gen 4 SSD of at most 4 TB. There will of course be less heavily equipped and less expensive versions, but we have not yet details on price and date of availability.
