Update from March 4th: Aldi’s robotic lawnmower is sold out – but with a price of only 299 euros, that’s not surprising. However, the discounter still offers an alternative. Also on offer is the slightly larger version of the Yard Force mower “XPower 800”. The device is suitable for lawns up to 800 square meters and offers slightly better general features compared to the smaller version. The Yard Force XPower 800 is currently available for 399 instead of 649 euros in the Aldi online shop.

Original message

The mowing season begins in a few weeks. If you’ve finally had enough of pushing the lawnmower yourself this year, you can use a robotic lawnmower. Until a few years ago, sensible devices were still really expensive, but they are now available for well under 500 euros – at least variants that require a boundary wire.

The device is suitable for medium-sized lawns up to 400 square meters and can handle gradients of up to 30 percent. The cutting width is around 18 centimeters, and the cutting height can be continuously adjusted between 2 and 6 centimeters. The device has a rain sensor and the robotic lawnmower is protected against water according to IPX5.

With the Aldi robotic lawnmower you will also receive a bypass scissors with a battery. The Aldi robotic lawnmower is rock solid and a good choice if you have a medium-sized lawn. The boundary wire makes simple gardens more suitable, as laying it would otherwise be a lot of work.

We have tested a solution for you that is more expensive but more convenient due to the elimination of boundary wires. In the linked test report you will find everything you need to know about the Ecovacs Goat G1 robotic lawnmower. There is also another powerful alternative, the Mammotion Luba AWD 1000, which can also handle longer grass.
