More wages – trade and metal workers with protest actions today

Employees in trade and the metal industry are taking to the streets in Salzburg today. The employees and workers are on strike for better wages. Their representatives have so far negotiated with the employer side in vain.

In the dispute over corresponding wage increases, retail employees are taking to the streets across Austria today. The second round of collective bargaining negotiations was unsuccessful. The union is demanding 11 percent more wages – there is still no offer from employers. In Salzburg, employees and trade unionists are marching in Linzergasse and Platzl from 11.30 a.m. due to a lack of a concrete offer from their employers. The metal workers are also on strike across Austria today. Their sixth round of wage negotiations was broken off last night without success. In Salzburg, protests are taking place at 9:45 a.m. A strike is planned at the Collini factory in Bürmoos, among other places.
