Moritz Bleibtreu and his wife Saskia have been married since July 2022. Now the otherwise reclusive acting star is giving a rare insight into his private life.
Moritz Bleibtreu, 52, has been one of Germany’s most successful actors since the 1990s and has already received several awards for his performance. He has largely kept his private life out of the public eye over the past few decades – but is now making more and more exceptions.
In August 2023, Bleibtreu published his first photo on his Instagram feed – a cute picture of a child. Now he is giving a private insight into his home with his wife Saskia Bleibtreu, formerly de Tschaschell, who is 20 years his junior.

Moritz Bleibtreu’s partner is lying cuddly on the couch, lovingly holding their dog Milli in her arms, who is sleeping on her chest. Behind her there is a white bookshelf, the cozy-looking sofa is in a light gray, the pillow matches Saskia’s beige turtleneck sweater.

The next snapshot at home also suggests that Moritz Bleibtreu’s house is decorated in simple, neutral colors. In the second photo on his Instagram story, you can see a white dresser with a souvenir of Bleibtreu’s breakthrough film “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” on it. In the road trip action comedy from 1997, he shone alongside Til Schweiger and Jan Josef Liefers, 59, as gangster Abdul.

In the background, a basketball hoop hangs on the door, indicating Bleibtreu’s sporting hobby. On the wall above the dresser is a cityscape of a woman standing on the street. It is not clear whether this is a private vacation photo.
Saskia stays out of the public eye: Otherwise “Moritz wouldn’t have married me”
Moritz Bleibtreu and his Saskia, who works as a key account manager at Shell, tied the knot in Reinbek near Hamburg in July 2022. He brought a son into the marriage. What does the acting star value most about his true love? “Above all, her strength, she is a strong woman who helps me a lot,” he told GALA in November 2022. In addition, they both “think similarly” and know “the gypsy life with lots of travel.”
Bleibtreu also likes that his Saskia doesn’t want to be in public and only accompanies him to selected appointments. Otherwise, “Moritz wouldn’t have married me,” she told GALA with a smile.
Moritz Bleibtreu publicly confirmed his love for the woman from Hamburg, who is twenty years his junior, in October 2021. His son David, born in 2008, comes from a previous relationship.
