Mortal Kombat 1: cross-play news, with a nice disappointment for some players

NetherRealm Studios launched last September Mortal Kombat 1, its new ultra violent fighting game. Since then, the title has regularly welcomed new characters, including Quan Chi just yesterday. The developers therefore came together to talk about the character in a livestream :

The opportunity for the studio to interact with players on chat, Community Manager Tyler Lansdown notably mentioned a feature highly requested by fans but which was absent at launch, the cross play. Good news, NetherRealm Studios hasn’t forgotten it, and we even know when it will arrive. THE cross play will be available in February 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Players will even be entitled to a filter to refuse the fight based on their opponent’s connection.

Eh yes, Tyler Lansdown doesn’t mention the Switch version of Mortal Kombat 1, which is undoubtedly not an oversight. The port was catastrophic at launch, Ed Boon had promised updates which have already arrived, but this version remains well below the others, NetherRealm Studios will probably wait before introducing the cross play on Switch, or even completely give up on it.

If you haven’t given in yet, Mortal Kombat 1 is available from €43.99 on Amazon, Cdiscount, there Fnac And Gamesplanet.
