Franchise mortal kombat was born in 1992 on arcade terminals before landing on the Sega Mega Drive and Super Nintendo consoles. The game is characterized on the terminals by its very violent tone, even gorebut more mainstream consoles were entitled to watered-down ports.
Since then, the franchise has made its way with the regular arrival of new characters, from 3D in 1997 and spin-offs until Mortal Kombat 11 released in 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Last May, NetherRealm Studios surprised its world by announcing the arrival of a new version which, against all odds, will not be called Mortal Kombat 12but Mortal Kombat 1… A new reboot therefore, after the previous one operated in 2011.
Release date and availability
The game is officially released on September 19, a date announced last May. The title is already in pre-order on Amazon for example.

Characters
The first hour fans will find all their favorite heroes, including Reptile, secret character present since the very first mortal kombat, or even Havik or Ashrah, also old-timers. The list is long, but some of these famous faces should only appear with paid DLC packs, alongside guest stars from the world of cinema (Peacemaker) or television (Homelander of The Boys).
A novelty is also making its debut: the Kameo system. These are special characters that you can call during a fight, for example if you feel that the outcome is uncertain, and who will launch specific attacks. There would be about ten Kameo fighters.
The plot and the gameplay
Mortal Kombat 1 will benefit from a story mode with cinematic sequences presented as spectacular. The plot goes back to the origins of the game with a succession of fights constituting as many mandatory steps to access the legendary tournament. The gameplay is classic. This is a fighting game taking place on a space that takes place horizontally. The game developers announce that they have designed the game to be as accessible as possible, while maintaining the character gore… but also humorous of the first opuses. Rumors have reported the presence of mini-games, side games like puzzles or sessions of mass destruction.
