Moscow and Tehran plan to build a factory to assemble drones in Russia

• No attack on Russian territory with Western weapons, assures Olaf Scholz. The German Chancellor spoke on the subject in an interview published on Sunday February 5 in the weekly Bild am Sonntag. “Together with our allies, we are providing combat tanks to Ukraine so that it can defend itself. • Canada shipped the first of the Leopard 2 tanks on Saturday February 4 promised to Ukraine, announced Defense Minister Anita Anand. A Canadian Air Force aircraft “taken off from Halifax with the first Leopard 2 battle tank that we donate to Ukraine”said the minister in a tweet.
• Sabotage actions by Ukrainian commandos behind Russian lines. THE Guardian on Saturday published an article about the Bratstvo battalion (“brotherhood”, in French), a group of Ukrainian special forces volunteers who operate behind Russian lines. Their missions range from kidnapping Russian or pro-Russian officials to destroying military infrastructure on Russian or Russian-controlled territory.

A fire that broke out on Saturday at an electricity substation in Odessa deprived nearly 500,000 people of electricity, announced the governor of the Odessa region, Maksym Marchenko. • Portugal willing to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine. On the sidelines of a trip to the Central African Republic, Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa said on Saturday that Portugal was ready to send Leopard 2 heavy tanks to Ukraine, but that it must first work with the Germany to restore some of its armored vehicles to working order.
• Russian losses are around 200,000 men, according to Westerners.
