Most recently at AS Monaco – Altach has a new sporting director

In the future, the CASHPOINT SCR Altach will distribute the tasks of sporting management to several shoulders. Georg Festetics succeeds Werner Grabherr as the new sports director. He is assisted by Wolfgang Meier (chief scout) and Philipp Netzer (interface juniors/academy).

Georg Festetics and Wolfgang Meier signed their contracts at SCRA today and will officially start their work on November 1st. Eight years at AS MonacoFestetics worked for AS Monaco for eight seasons between 2013 and 2021, initially as assistant sporting director, player manager and from 2017 as Head of International Football. The 38-year-old, who was born in Kitzbühel, worked with the Monegasques with well-known sports directors such as Luis Campos (currently Paris Saint-Germain), Claude Makélélé (FC Chelsea) and most recently Michael Emenalo (formerly FC Chelsea). Festetics has built up a network in numerous markets relevant to Austrian football. Among other things, he worked as a scout in the DA-CH region, France and Belgium as well as in West Africa. His language skills stood him in good stead: the future SCRA sports director can communicate in seven different national languages self-employed. His clients included SL Benfica and AFC Bournemouth. Points of contact with the SCRA Georg Festetics has also repeatedly had points of contact with the SCR Altach in the past. For the first time more than 16 years ago after the first promotion to the Bundesliga in the summer of 2006: The then 22-year-old was involved in the mediation of the Brazilian striker and later favorite of the public Leonardo da Silva to Altach. At the beginning of this year, Festetics put SCR Altach and Ludovic Magnin in contact and was there when he signed the contract in the CASHPOINT Arena.
