Motion X500: Soundcore’s new speaker focuses on spatial audio

Notably known for its headphones and earphones with unbeatable value for money, the Soundcore brand, a subsidiary of Anker, has just announced the imminent release of two new portable speakers: the Motion X500 and the Motion 300.

Motion X500: spatial audio to take anywhere

Let’s start the presentations with the Motion X500, the more imposing of the two. It has dimensions of 19.1 x 8.1 x 22.8 cm and weighs 1.63 kg, which makes it suitable for use at home (living room, garden, terrace, etc.) rather than for taking away from home. . The Motion X500 still has a handle to make it easier to transport.

The speaker promises increased resistance to the elements with its IPX7 certification and should withstand some shocks thanks to its aluminum structure. Its handbag-shaped design is not the most sober, especially with the brand logo printed on the front.

The main argument of this Motion X500 is to offer an immersive experience thanks to its compatibility with Soundcore’s spatial audio technology. Indeed, to our knowledge, the speaker does not seem to support Dolby Atmos or 360 Reality Audio formats and relies on a proprietary solution specific to the Anker subsidiary.

To immerse the user in the heart of their music, the Motion X500 has 2 full-range front speakers and 1 full-range speaker placed on top of the speaker to reproduce the elevation effects. This speaker is also surrounded by plays of light.

Featuring a Bluetooth 5.3 chip, the speaker is compatible with SBC, AAC and LDAC codecs. It promises a battery life of 12 hours and it is possible to connect several speakers together for better immersion. Many settings including a 9-band equalizer are available within the Soundcore app.

Motion 300: an accessible portable speaker

More traditional in its approach, the Motion 300 is an 800g portable speaker similar to the Bose Soundlink Flex. It features a silicone contour to absorb shocks, a metal grid on the front and a detachable wrist strap for easy transport.
