Moto 24 Hours of Le Mans: reassuring news for the Moto Ain driver

The first meeting of the season turned into a nightmare on Saturday for the Moto Ain team at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. From the start, bike #96 did not start as expected and its rider Bradley Smith was hit at full speed by a competitor from the back of the grid.

After this accident, the Briton was taken to hospital for further examinations, while Moto Ain was forced to retire shortly after, following the heavy damage caused to the machine.

“The most important thing is that Bradley is unharmed”

” [Les examens] are quite reassuring. Bradley will just have to start a period of rest and rehabilitation for several weeks, ”said the Team in a press release this Sunday evening.

Pierre Chapuis, team manager, then took the opportunity to come back to this particular weekend: “I’m very satisfied and happy with qualifying… and much less with the race. We could do something beautiful here. We had the potential. But the race only lasted a few seconds. Bradley is in the hospital. The motorcycle is damaged. Corentin (Perolari), Claudio (Corti) and the rest of the team are really disappointed by this fact of the race. The most important thing is that Bradley is unharmed and can return to the circuits soon. It will take several weeks, that’s for sure, but he will get back on his feet. On our side, we are going to take stock of the damage, dismantle and reassemble the motorcycles to go and defend our colors at Spa”.

A race that will take place on June 4 and 5 in Belgium.
