During the December Dev Update, the developers of New World gave a brief overview of the changes they will be making to open world travel. Thanks to the PTR, we know much more and it does not displease.
One of the main complaints from players in New World is the cost in Azoth for travel. The further you go, the higher the cost and the calculation is the same if your inventory is full. The time taken to refuel Azoth can fly away in just two teleportations and it’s quite off-putting how our efforts can be shattered for two small TPs.
However, on the January PTR patch note, the developers added a change on the cost of fast transfer. Indeed, this update will significantly lessen the distance factor in the amount of Azoth needed for each transfer. So the checkpoint bonus for the factions associated with the rapid transfer reduce the distance factor to zero.
This is not news, as the developers announced it during the December Dev Update, but it’s always nice to see that the developers keep their words. This change will significantly change the quality of life for players, because they will finally be able to benefit from a much lower teleportation cost than before.
