It is through a long letter posted on Twitter that she announces that she is “withdrawing from political life”. Two days ago, Coralie Dubost was pinned for her human management of certain collaborators and the expensive use of her advances for mandate costs, facts that she disputes.
“For the past few days, my person has been targeted by unfair attacks which serve my political group, the electoral deadlines and more generally democracy”, estimates the elected representative of the third constituency of Hérault, who has a time shared the life of ‘Olivier Veran. “I refuse to be the instrument of an anti-parliamentary cabal, in the same way that I refuse to lend myself to a ping-pong of justifications, which borders on a phantasmagoric lynching on social networks”, she continues.
Clothing expenses and restaurant expenses
According to a report by a human resources firm sent in the spring of 2021 to the ethics officer of the National Assembly – published on Friday by Mediapart and of which AFP was aware – former collaborators of the deputy accuse him of having imposed on them ” tasks relating to the personal sphere”, “demeaning” remarks and behavior but also a “conflict of values” or “ethics” in particular on the use of his advances for mandate expenses. It is in particular a question of “monthly clothing expenses within a range of 1,500 to 2,000 euros” or “very high restaurant costs”, explains the report.
At Mediapart, Coralie Dubost – who, like every deputy, has a monthly advance for mandate costs of 5,373 euros which is added to the remuneration of elected officials – indicated that she had reimbursed costs deemed unrelated to the exercise of the mandate of deputy, after a control of the ethics officer of the National Assembly for the years 2018 and 2019.

In her long letter posted on Sunday, she indicates that she will not be a candidate for re-election in the June legislative elections. Plus, she decides to “retreat from political life” and chooses to devote herself to her family. The deputy who has displayed a very round belly for a few months will soon give birth to her first child. “Staying true to my values today means protecting the child I am carrying from all the vicissitudes of exposure and political life,” she wrote again.
She also confides having lost her father two months ago “a great and honest man” and would have “liked to devote more time to his last breaths”. “I want to dedicate peaceful ones to those of my newborn,” continues the 30-year-old.
After several thanks – including one to Emmanuel Macron “for his confidence, it was he who introduced civil society into political life” – Coralie Dubost, present at the Champ de Mars on April 24 for the re-election of the president, thanks his ” marvelous companion”, his family and his friends “who have gone through all the hardships by his side”. And to conclude by addressing them “happy with the weather that we are going to find”.
