MPG Gungnir 300R Airflow, an ultra complete and easy to assemble case!

MSI brings us the MPG Gungnir 300R Airflow, an ultra complete case, accessible and easy to assemble. In addition, it comes with a nice surprise that will allow you to optimize your editing as best as possible.

All gamers know that ventilation is essential for our machines and MSI understands this well. The brand’s new case makes this its major argument. Space for your cooling systems and to house your most massive RTXs, a support to facilitate the positioning of your graphics card and openings everywhere to properly ventilate your components. In addition, the housing has been designed to be particularly accessible for assembly. In any case, these are the promises on paper, so we took a look ourselves to see a little.

The MPG 300R Gungnir Airflow has style

The MPG Gungnir 300R Airflow has a design very similar to the cases in the same range. The major difference lies above all in its facade, here completely open to maximize the air intake. The openings are also equipped with dust protection. Available in black or white, the case is relatively classic and sober. A small MSI badge on its front panel, a glazed left side (tempered glass), a solid right side with a row of ventilation at its base (at the location of the HDD and SSD).

On top, the case offers a nice range of connectors. Two USB 3.0 ports, a USB-C port, audio inputs (microphone and headphones), a button to activate or deactivate the LEDs and start switches. It’s not bad at all and very accessible.

A medium tower that offers space

In terms of size, the MPG Gungnir 300R Airflow is within the high standard of mid-towers (Mid-Tower), although perhaps a little wider: 50.5 cm long, 23.5 cm wide for a height 51 cm, beautiful beast. The case thus ensures sufficient space to easily accommodate large RTXs which easily reach 30 cm in length now, yes, large behemoths.

In addition to offering enough space, the Gungnir 300R significantly improves the installation, positioning and maintenance of our graphics peripherals thanks to an adjustable support. You can drag it from left to right, or even change its height. It doesn’t seem like it, but it makes a big difference. It is directly integrated with the case, and it allows the graphics card to rest its rear end so as not to force the motherboard to force it. MSI has not forgotten the style and has chosen to engrave its support with a nice logo and which benefits from RGB lighting. A real plus, very easy to use and quite visually nice to boot.

Graphics card support.

A box that greatly facilitates assembly

The whole case is assembled this way anyway. The screws with grip cannot be lost and remain attached to their support, the side faces can be removed very easily, but are firmly magnetized to avoid accidents (a screw also holds them from the back). As a bonus, a good part of the cable management is already done. The main cabling of the tower is already connected and stored on the rear side. All you have to do is integrate your components and your own cables. In short, with the MPG Gungnir 300R Airflow, the assembly of your PC configuration is greatly facilitated in addition to being really accessible.

Integrated fans and on-board tools

In addition to the in-house kickstand for the graphics card and a pre-assembled management cable, the case also has 4 120 mm fans (3 at the front, and one at the rear). Note that the coolers also benefit from RGB lighting. If you want to further improve ventilation, know that there is still plenty of space to add some, particularly on the top, or go from a blink of an eye to 140 mm. Likewise, the use of watercooling is widely possible in 2×140 mm or 3×120 mm maximum by installing it from the front or on top.

Furthermore, the 300R Airflow comes with a small box of accessories. A wrench, screws and additional frame for vertical GPU brackets. In other words, it’s an ultra complete kit.

Our opinion on the MPG 300R Gungnir Airflow

The MPG 300R Gungnir Airflow is an excellent mid-tower case. Not only is it quite classy and offers a lot of connectivity on its front, but above all it greatly facilitates the assembly of your configuration. Better yet, it already optimizes it. The cable management is already partially done at the back and your new cables will quickly find their place, a few tools are provided in the box and above all, it has an adjustable stand directly integrated into the case, in order to support the most big graphics cards. Rather spacious, very well ventilated and equipped as standard with 4 120 mm fans, the MPG 300R Gungnir Airflow is an ultra-solid case particularly recommended for beginners who wish to set up their first PC configuration or who are not particularly comfortable with the cable management and space management.
