THE graphics cards GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER from MSI are affected by a BIOS problem… fortunately already corrected.
During the test of the MSI Ventus 3X GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, we noticed significantly lower performance than the other model in our hands, the TUF Gaming from ASUS.
Even more annoying, these performances sometimes placed the MSI card below our “reference” RTX 4070 Ti model. Even though this one is a slightly overclocked model, it was messy.
A very rare technical problem
In our file, we explained the thing and also highlighted the provision of a first – then a second – BIOS sent by MSI and NVIDIA to remedy the problem.
The second BIOS unfortunately arrived too late to be implemented on our file and, in the same spirit, it arrived too late for the cards intended for stores to be updated. Just think, they have been in transit or in resellers’ warehouses for several days already.
In fact, any buyer of a GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER signed MSI will not be able to benefit from the best of their card. Obviously, we must look grim at the headquarters of the Taiwanese company.
A new BIOS now available
Logically, MSI published a message to apologize to all affected users. A message in which the company reaffirms its commitment “ to ensure optimal graphics card performance and overall satisfaction for our valued customers “.
Fortunately for MSI – and for affected customers – the solution shouldn’t be too complicated to implement. It involves downloading a new BIOS for the graphics card – there is one for each of the six versions of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER from MSI – and opening the ZIP archive thus recovered.
Then, simply double-click on the .EXE file obtained and keep your fingers crossed that no power outage will spoil the party. Once the procedure is completed, the performance should be in line with what we expect from an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER.
