4K/144 Hz mini-LED screen, and to play in good conditions, a marriage between processors Core Alder Lake-HX and graphics cards GeForce RTX 4000.
We had confirmation two days ago thanks to the specifications of several HP Omen 17 gaming laptops, the GeForce RTX 4090 will be available in a mobile version. A particularity of this series, since the previous generation, that of the GeForce RTX 3000 under Ampere architecture, stops at the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti on laptops. Certainly, HP will not be the only brand to offer machines powered by the flagship Ada Lovelace: MSI is preparing a Titan 2023 vintage laptop equipped with this.
A high-end laptop
The technical sheet of the Titan GT77 17.3 inch version 2023 provides rather attractive characteristics. On the program: UHD screen (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) with 144 Hz refresh rate and mini-LED technology, offering a maximum brightness of 1,000 cd / m².
Another image, while not detailing the components specifically, promises a Core i9-Series HX paired with a next-gen GeForce RTX. For this very high-end computer, this promise should give birth to a Core i9-13900HX / GeForce RTX 4090 combination. These components will be kept cool by four fans and eight copper heat pipes.
Other highlights include the integration of a SteelSeries Cherry MX mechanical keyboard, a 99.9 Whr battery or even Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.
24 cores/32 CPU threads
At this point, specs for Raptor Lake processors for laptops, i.e. Core i9-13900HX, and GeForce RTX 4090, remain unofficial, albeit well documented.
The Core i9-13900HX will offer 24 cores/32 threads, a configuration never before seen on a laptop. Indeed, the Core i9-12900HX is a 16 core/24 threadswhen its successor would ship 8 additional E-cores.
On the side of the GeForce RTX 4090 mobile, if this reference shares the same name as its overpowered sister desktop, it will in principle be less well armed. The number of CUDA cores remains uncertain, but this graphics card would be based on the AD103 rather than AD102 GPU. Also, when it comes to VRAM, we now know it will be 16GB, not 24GB.
MSI and many other brands will formalize laptops equipped with new CPU / GPU at CES 2023.
