Since its release, MultiVersus has already welcomed two new characters, namely LeBron James and Morty. This is just the start, as the developers intend to bring in a plethora of them over time, since these fighters all have unique skills. All these additions come, for the moment, from licenses held by Warner Bros. But some of the players have been campaigning in recent weeks to see certain characters from other publishers arrive.
However, Warner Bros. Games, through its director, in the columns of Axios, explained that, for the moment, crossovers with universes belonging to other companies were not in the plans. The latter indicates that MultiVersus could serve as a showcase for its licenses and publicity when a film or series is released, like Black Adam. A film is coming in October and the superhero will be integrated more or less at the same time in MultiVersus.
The Warner Bros. has a multitude of renowned licenses and could therefore count on it to come and implement characters known to all in its fighting game, instead of spending money to offer crossovers to its community, as Fortnite does, among others. However, this is not a definitively closed door, although it should not open in the short term. This risks disappointing part of the community, those who dream of seeing the Breaking Bad universe land in MultiVersus. For a few weeks, it was possible to play with Walter White, through a mod, but the developers suspended this functionality, thus preventing this little trick.
